This week, we are learning to work in project groups and identify and understand a sustainability issue in our community. We will get into groups of 3 or 4 and choose an issue that we are interested in. We will work through an inquiry into the issue, to find out more about what the problems are, who are the people involved and ways to help make the issue more sustainable. There are about 6 projects that we can choose from around the future focussed theme of sustainability in our community. Here is a list of our projects:
Each group will have a leader who will write on our class blog to tell us where they are at with their projects. This will help us keep track of where we are at and if we need help, our teachers can help guide us in the right direction. We are really excited to work together to find solutions to make our community sustainable!

Learnt about the definition of Social Action. Which means “Taking steps to “change” things that are wrong in our society, and introducing new ideas, process for doing things better in the future.

Today our group 5 stars worked on homes and houses, each member of the group worked on a presentation about Simon 'o co nor and what he is doing about the community. we think doing this will help us communicate in different situation.
ReplyDeleteThis term we have been choose to choose an article that we are interested in, we have selected an article that is to do in pt england it is called "park and Public".It is hard for the public because the public is going to build houses in the reserve. In sos we have to name our group and it is Island boyz.

ReplyDeleteToday our group worked on making a solution about problem which is rubbish and recycling.
Our group presented on our problem and talked about our negitives and positives about Rubbish and recycling.
… a part we found interesting was how much rubbish was left on queens road in town infront of mcdonalds and ho this lady had to pick its up her self.
a part we need help or assistance with is nothing because we got things sorted out and we didn’t need help

ReplyDeleteToday our group worked on .... today our group decided to work on the best solution for our team problem which was the Maori language dying out. Where at the end, our team member Taunese presented about our negative and positive answers.
Each member of the group worked on writing down positive and negative answers about the problem.
… a part we found interesting was when we had to find out information for maori language dying out. Also exploring the negatives and the positives about our problem.

My group had did really well in our work. I presented our Social Action to the class. It was cool!
ReplyDeleteOur class has been learning about the small Island in the South Pacific called Tokelau. Tokelau is unique because they have a roll in what they do every single day and they help everyone in the village.
ReplyDeleteToday we watched a video about Tokelau called "Our small world".The Tokelauan way of life is finding food caring for their family having a roll in different kind of jobs. Some of the members had a leave tokelau to go for there education but some came back to help there family and friends.
